I experienced some hard financial times a
few months back. I was laid off from my job of 4 years without any notice. Plus, I had some unexpected expenses and I found myself struggling to pay my car payment
credit card bills. I tried working out loan modification agreements with my creditors to ease the pressure until I could get back on my feet again.
Despite arrangements I made to the contrary, my creditors sent the accounts to collection agencies - and a few credit card companies filed charge offs on my credit file without my knowledge.
By the time I got a new job
and was able to pay my bills, the damage was already done. I was
devastated. By that time all of my credit card accounts that I was previously
able to pay on time were now charged-off and sent to third party collection
agencies. One account was even converted into a
court judgment even though I never had a chance to defend myself in court. This debt was actually reported several times on my credit reports - which caused my credit score to drop into the low 500-range. I did not know what to do or where to begin.
I initially tried to fix my credit myself, but I did not know
where to start. I had so many negative items on my credit report
that I knew I needed some professional help.
I wanted to start over and fix my credit because I knew I was capable of managing new credit - contrary to what the bureaus said about me. I decided to hire a
professional credit repair lawyer. After reviewing many options,
I chose the Lexington Law Firm. |
